...after another attempt to get some sleep (i managed two hours, wo o w), these immaculate beauty woke me up... of course there are much more badly reasons to get up ;-)

good fighting common, 44lbs........ MY SESSION :-))))

so a last view out of the bivvy and i decide to finish this session, it was better than expected, much more better !! ;-)

And the last words of my session i want to dedicate to my pocket lighter, pocket lighter, what do you think about the session, the result, the carps, the baits and last but not least you think about me ???

... at round about 8 in the morning, another "little" fella jst over 35lbs ;-) .... i was so tired... and he was fighting like a pro....

this time, big big grippas (180gr), short hooklink, size 6 ESP T-6 (brilliant hookholds, tried these pattern for the first time because of some struggling of the pattern i used thursday). the grippa ejects immediately.

and the tactic this time, because of so many breams last time, rear hopper filled up with one kilo of boilies and the rig. Front hopper loaded only with mini-tigers and csl-soaked pellets. open the rear first, go another 8 to 10 meters to the right or left and open the front hopper..... result : no bream hooked :-)))

...enough words, take off please, straight to the well known destination please !!!!! come on....

no chance to sleep a little bit....

if there is anything i hate at this lake and in this swim i choose, than it is a double take on both rods at 300m range near the opposite bank and snags...... and it happend.... while i played the right hand rod, the left hand delk spoke to me... shit, so the right hand rod between the legs and tried to hold the left hand buddy away from the snags....pumped it and changed to the right hand rod and so on until i had both fishies in front of me, one shorty (a real carp) and a longer one....oh no, pleaaaaase, not a stinky nervous grasscarp.... but it was.
so i neted the smaler carp quickly and first (maybe round about 26-28lbs) put it back and tried to net the grassi, right, i tried.... these nervous rockets... jumped two times out of the net (even though i'm looking young and cute and peaceable, didn't understand it...) but then it was finished... just under 38lbs... and back it goes...

...shit tigernut-marbles :-)) the net, sweaty, mat, everything smells like hell...pääääääääääh.....
but who cares, the rods have to be back out to the spots again.... that's life...

open an above board ? when i was starting to write my first post today, i had already a drop back on the left hand rod and a second later the delk screamed.... maybe 20 minutes after i put the bait to its destination !!!

it was saturday late afternoon, did some baitboat-building the day, and these f.....g voices got louder and louder, heard them since i was home friday noon.... i couldn't resist any more, but the question was, now ? late afternoon ? or better tomorrow morning for a day session.... i racked maybe two hours upstairs, downstairs, did something here and there, made some rigs for "tomorrow", got some veeeeeeery old tigernut-boilies out of the freezer (think they stay there for maybe 5 years !!!), chris from successful-baits.de made me some of these, years ago. who cares... think they will still work...
so everything was prepared for tomorrow..... and of course.... you know it already.... half an hour later i was on the way back to the lake where i missed thursday a few fellas.... you do know these voices, don't you ? ;-)

So here were are, bivvied up in the rain and the rain stopped when i was ready..... of course... maybe also not MY session this time....

two rods are out at range, near the overside margin in nearly 300m, yes, with these many years old little tigernut-boilies, toped with a half 18mm monster-crab pop-up (also over 2 years soaked in good old ORIGINAL Hutchis Monster-Crab ;->) ....

....and who knows.....

not enough with only my old stinky bedchair cover, no no, i lost two biggies in the rain..... of course, oh these damn voices i heard.... but who cares, i'm here, so it is.... a cup of tea (yes, with milk) and maybe my mood becomes better...

...with my blog, but there was no time to drop a few lines before. last night we had heavy thunderstorms and this morning round about 6, it was raining heavily. so britta decided to prefer the "dry-zone", home ;-)
because i prepared already the particles and scoberry-soup i decided also to prefer the "dry-zone", my aqua force 12 suit ;-)

And what should i say, just bivvied up, the rain stops and it became blooooody hot, shit...

the particles and scoberry soup is working ;-) it boils :-)

and after a few breams (in total 29!!! that's the reason why i was so late with the blog, f..k !) the delk screamed a "little" bit harder and longer, a hard fighting mirror, just under 38lbs, JOB DONE :-)

...on a small but lovely lake. not that large, but with beautyful fish in and most of the time... no one else than us ;-)

Can't remember when i was out last time without my beauty little baitboat, miss it. But as a good alternative my spombs are with me :-) brilliant piece of kit, like it a lot on such lakes, you are quick in spodding, also with "soup" (like here, soup of white halibut marbles, crushed and tigers).

...and one hour later the firt one slurped some successful-baits soup ;-) a nice long lovely coloured common, just under 35lbs :-)

two quick "spombs" over the empty area, cast out again, let's see what happens next...

...happend at round about 2 o'clock in the night, a nice mirror was on the munch and slurped a amplecream from successfull baits.

our neighbour fished also with successful-baits, also maple and had two runs and banked one nice looking scaled mirror ! congrats mate.

nearly all the gear is packed in the van and in half an hour we rock the road back to home, a funny event, nice to meet some new guys from the www and we'll be back again surely ;-)

first of all we have to say a big big thanx to the local syndiacte members !!!! because we are allowed to fish the whole lake with our party, .....guys, great !!!!!

after a nice bbq the night was quiet, some liners and single bleeps, nothing more...

this morning at round about 09:00 a drop back on a maple/pineapple combi, i don't like these nervous fishies, buuuut, better than nothing.... and much better than the six breams from my neighbour from Oldenburg ;-) short foto session and this stinky grascarp (16+kg) went back where it came from....

today it's really sunny and hot, a lot of fish is active, but, of course in an area where it is not allowed to fish, right in front of the camping, the swimming area... time to stop the baitboat engines and fire a single zig in that area, who knows...

...but first of all, after the turbulent night, two cups of tea and "breakfast" at 11 a.m ;-) the rods were not put back after each catch, we put them in again after breakfast...

...and the delk plays again.... the "sound of white halibut" :-)

...no, no, no, no, i don't tell u the secrets... i'm sleeping... ;-)

...but if u see, it wasn't necessary... obviously ;-)

i lost another two fishies and caught 4 more smaller but beauty ones before britta closed the session with a nice good fighting common at just under 35lbs

...my Big Fish Joker sleeps like a stone and it's my time :-) Britta always sleeps veeeeery well and therefore she's tooooo slow for this hook and hold spot... so the night was mine :-PPP ...and it was not tooooo bad... ;-)

5 runs, 2 hookpulls, 3 banked up to 46lbs.... it works... and it seems these little white marbles also :-)

friday 4 p.m., weather forecast screamed "goooo !"...

...and we went... off to the lake for a sunny "laid-back" session from friday to saturday evening. Some easy fishing, barbecue and enjoying the sun... easy living...

the rods were just out for round about one hour and the first delk played these lovely chartbreaker... the first little mirror "slurped" some white halibut marbles from successful-baits, presented over a mixture of particles and a handful of 18mm white halis, partially crushed-

shining white halis, with only high quality bright fishmeals (no white COLOUR !) and small pellets rolled in.

...and like all the times, when i'm out with my better half and big fish joker Britta, she topped it half an hour later, of course.... a long hard fighting mirror at just over 30lbs... but ok, she had a good trainer all the years ;-)

we had another 3 fishies until we hopped in the bags. we put them back quickly without a shooting, because the barbecue was in top form :-)

...back in the sleepingbag...

no no, i was not drunken, no no i sware, just tired when adjusting the selftimer and not that unconsumed, meanwhile, as i felt at the beginning of this session ;-)

the last one of my quick session, a lovely margin common :-)

i couldn't remember exactly what was after i put it back to it's element, but somehow i just managed to get back to home and felt to sleep for thousand hours....

...don't neglect the margins !
between the first and second fishie i had a view at the margins to the right and to the left and i saw three lumps near the right hand margin, just 6/7ft in front of the margin. two very big mirrors and a nice red koi, the koi was maybe round about 25lbs, the mirrors, hmmm... :-P
so what to do ? of course put some "wondermush" in :-) an hour later, mush was gone, rod was in and another cup of mush inserted ;-)

round about at midnight, only 6/7ft "far" away from the margin, the delk screams like hell...
out of the bag into the slippers and a world record sprint to the margin rod, the result...

not the biggest one of these two lumps i saw before, but however, a really big one :

any questions ? i didn't have any... :-) and how big was it ? hmmmm..., i know it :-P and it was really fat, NO, really really really fat ;-)

and what do we learn ? you're right, two things, you do not need a baitboat at anytime to catch a biggie and never neglect the margins, never ever !!! ;-)

ok, i like building baitboats in my freetime and make you happy with an everlasting working swimming shoebox BUT when i'm honest, i like THAT a little bit more ;-)

...but there was such a smell sneaking thru the windows, no way... i had to visit the banks. so i decided to do a quick 20h session. little bit of tackle and up to the lake, sorry to all of you waiting for their ugly ducks :-( but if you have a look at this...

you know which "aroma" i mean... i hope.... :-)

my decision of baits for this quicky were the good old successful RedSpiceFish "marbles" from successful-baits (of course, what else ;->), mixed with some particles and green lipped pellets, all soaked for a while so i had a smelly mush.

filled up my 8 year old and never let me down good old ugly low- but longrunner swimming shoebox, both hoppers with a good load of this mush.

some 18mm RedSpiceFish (salted) hookbaits, topped with a mini neon poppie and the ugly duck sailed to the spots in round about 170m - 200m.

a cup of tee and waiting, watching, relaxing...

maybe toooo early for this year...

a mate of mine fished the spot i fished the last two evenings, result : 7 fishies, good job, but expected, because of the fresh baits from successfull-baits each day ;-)

...so my best piece of kit, the porter for the lazy ones, the power porter is loaded, a last view at the beautiful lake and back home again ;-)..... to build some baitboats for u and to prepare my next session ;-))

after my first mirror for 2011 yesterday i had only a bream when packing away all the gear. today, another sunny day, i<#m back for a few hours and after 40min the left hand delk screamed.... wooohoooo, my first common for this year, absolute fantastic fighting beauty at just under 39lbs....haaaaappy daaaays :-) caught it on white halibut from successful-baits....ok, what else ;-)) so rods are both out again (had another funny bream on the right hand rod, shit) at about 260m, so lets see what happens....

Yesterdays short afterwork session was not that successful, only two long range stinky breams ;-) back again today for a few sunny hours at the lake, the traps are set again, two rods out 260m against the margins. One fishy with a tuned white halibut, second with a little different maplecream than the ever catching standard one from successful-baits.de. you know on which ones i caught the big breams, don't you? ;-)) so nice sunny, little windy weather, see what comes.....

...on this sunny day. A few hours after work is worth a try. Job done, batteries nearly empty :-) but with a car charger charged to 100% again in 20min ;-)

The bombastic result of my first overnighter is a beautiful big blank:-) it seemed to rain the whole night long, a view out of my little dry aqua castle said 'yes mate, youre right, good luck to pack away everything in the van'...fuck...so a few hours and this was my first brilliant shorty...:-)

Shit, i'm hotter than hell, so there was no way out, i had to pack up my gear and up to the lake. It's fucking raining and raining, and muddy, but who cares :-) it's not that cold, we have 10 G+, water is round about 6 G. So all rods are out, round about 270m against the overside margin, my little ugly duck did a good job :-) loaded with a few good old deadly white shining scoberry and our new lovely tasting maples, so lets see what happens.

Yesterday we had a nice sunny day, nearly the whole lake was iceless. But this morning...completely frozen again, fu..! So because the weatherforcast said minus until thursday i decide to leave today after midday. Yes, martin, i'm also getting slowly bald and wise;-) but it was nice here in the lodge and we had always a very small chance of a beauty. We'll be back latest in august, and still a few times more in future because there is one target fish i have to catch, a fish britta already had three years ago, named?? Right -> pops ;-) read me later on one of my next mysterious sessions and in my professional mad bad school englishB-) conclusion of the session: TOTALLY BLANKED...

First day in 2011...

...and still without a bleep, but at the bank. Only a few from pieces of ice cruising across the lake, still melting. Who cares, we have a nice warm lodge, nice good meals, sky-tv and enough wood to fire. Maybe toooo comfortable, normally not my style, need my bivvy/brolly. Didn't get the rods out new, let them where they are. We had a very very little snow today. But it becomes slowly more and more hard with this conditions to get a blind one, still some few ice, no wind and very very high water level. So nice it is here in the lodge, so glad i am to see home sweet home and a 'profi' in düsseldorf;-)

Last day and night at lesmo...

...in 2010. Today it was mild again and after 3hours rowing and shaking nearly half of lesmo is icefree, also most of the winterspots. Loaded today all traps with nice "little" new year gifts, some really single hookbaits, 40mm+ scoberry's. The outer skin melts/breaks down to size 25-30mm and leaks very nice. Because Size doesn't matterB-) wish you all a happy new year and all the other stuff, you know it...read me next year!

...as expected. Today a nice warmer day, few times with sun and a little bit of northerly winds. Of course 3/4 of the lake is frozen, so i dont think the beauties do a move. Little bit of shopping was the highlight of the day;-) on our way back to lesmo we passed a lidl parking area with a rest of snow and i remembered some very nice monents with a profi ;-)(insider, lovely greetings to 'someone'), need another iphone teachment, urgently;-) cross fingers for a blind one the next days... Last but not least best wishes to mart, you will not see me at home before the 6th mateB-)

...not freezing, mild and 6 rods out. But the main thing which makes me happy...toilet and shower are working again fine :-) ok, no bleep and most of the lake is still frozen, especially the winter resident in the middle between the plateaus. Because of no wind it will melt veeeeeery slowly. Today was a foggy wet day, all the snow is gone. So 6 rods out in front, left and right from the lodge and maybe there comes a blind and of course little bit stupid one... Forgot to take some dvds with me, who cares, time to watch the dvds laying in the lodge, so today "monster pursuit 1&2" for the 22 time;-) last but not least nice greetings to someone bruno sings about, yours god;-) read me later...

...but i have two rods out, yeah! Exactly at 4pm, unbelievable! After 3 hours rowing, shaking, rowing, shaking at 7! in the morning (it froze again, but thinner than yesterday) it began to snow heavily! Another very soft ice was growing, so what to do, of course take the little remote crusher and steer it from the warm lodge ;-) then a little bit shopping, eating and prepared two rods. We had after the snow some icerain, then rain and mild, so it goes slowly melting. But all the hard work with rowing and shaking that ass was worth the effort! Had two calls, from beyonce and pink, they must had followed my blog! They were looking for a sexy young cute guy, for their brand new musicvideo, who shakes his ass sexier than the rest of the world and they said "we're now finished in searching, we want only you bud!!" what do we learn, right, never give up! But the videotake is in august, we have to sort it out in a couple of days, because i'm on ??? Right, lesmoooo again for an exclusive week with only two of my mates, so i can play only on one party;-)

...because of no chance to got the rods out yesterday i decide to 'clean' the last two years of my fishing life and sort out my highly organised rig board. It is very secret with all the unknown tricky rigs but i think it is time to share it with you specimen;-) so a little puzzle for you before i go to bed, how many different rigs you will see and how many hooks can be used again because they were unused ? New nickname...

In some special secret circels my nickname is 'god'...but from today call me 'shaggy, shaggy the ice-crusher' B-) so, a frozen lake, lot of beauties in there, a small rowboat, one paddle and a man hard as steel and crazy like a german, what would you expect? Wrong mates, i didnt managed the whole lake, but its icefree in front of the lodge, from peg 2 up to half between lodge and peg 4. Fuck, cost me good 5 hours continious rowing from the left to the right and back and again and again, standing with one paddle in the boat and shaking my ass to make big waves. When i finished at the right some little ice was build on the left, but what will you do. Maybe you know bear grills (or so) from dmax, yes ? It's a women against shaggy the icer, believe meB-) Now its fine and the temperatures will slowly go up. If it will freeze thick again the following night i place a bomb in front of the lodge swim ;-) but who knows, i saw one of the santa-brothers flying again in the sky, look at the picture (little white stripe/dot), think he was in the wrong direction and is now looking for his brother, showed him the correct direction, so maybe it works...and it wont freeze again...

...and a little bit of snow last night. Today we have a nice sunny day, but with cold notherly winds. All reals were nearly frozen, but will work fine, love these reels. Also the delks are working brilliant and sensitive in this cold conditions. But still no bleep. Saw the first 'ice' on lesmos margins, between 1 and 2, you remember the santas? Who knows, found another mysterium on peg1, let you know later...after a few bottles of wine ;-) so the rods are out again for the next 48hours. Leave you with some carpless impressions and a pic to remember the good old warmy days...

Very very mysterious...

...no bleeps, so i had a walk around the lake at midday. The whole morning i had such a feeling that something or someone was creeping in our area but what or who should it be, hmmm, maybe only in my thoughts. So i had a walk and saw a trail of footsteps !? Oooops, what's that and such different footprints than mine, hmmm. They started at peg two, i followed them up down to peg 1 where it/he must have a break or a view across beauty lesmo before it/he was leaving.... Only thing i could see were two little red dots far high away in the sky, hmmmm, what the hell was it.... Damned! If you have a look at the large distance between both footprints on peg 1 maybe santa is a very huge large big man, but if you look at the trail from peg 2 up to 1 the footsteps are very close
By each other, makes no sense, so i believe there was not "a" santa, no no, i believe that were "the santas", the only conclusion which makes sense! They are brothers and everyone has only one leg, makes sense doesn't it? So guys, wish me some carps, otherwise i can not guarantee to post more of such "french secret stuff" ;-) merry christmas

Couldn't believe it by myself, a lake full of biggies and i was so lazy that all rods are out just right now. Never happened before that my fist trap was set 25h after arriving, i'm getting old. A quick view out of the kitchen at 3 o'clock shows you the situation, rain, rain, rain, loneley pod waiting for the rods... Now they were out, in different depth from 4m to 8m, loaded with a very small amount of crushed boilies and a few pieces of maize. Good old white shining scoberries, new maple/sultanious mixture dumbels and something very "normal", let you know later, only if it works ;-) a last piece of would in the 'lodge-burner' and i jump in the sleeping bag... Wish you all many gifts and a merry christmas tomorrow...and to someone really special out there far away from here "a looovely ping ! Stay the way you are!" Read me later...

Aaaaawesome, just a few minutes at lesmo and my old record is broken. The record in surprising me ! It is a "few" years left when my mum throw me on this planet and i had lot of positive surprises since the day zero but what about this : you arrive at lesmo, at this beautyful lake with such an amount of brilliant big fishies, the lake is open, not frozen, you know that you are lonely with the whole lake, you stop at the gate, nobody is there, you feel a little bit of an owner for two weeks, no snow plus 6 grad celsius, it is raining a little bit. I forgot the gatenumber, called andy and marie, well i opened the gate and felt very happy. I looked for the keys of the lodge, it is a little bit dark already, wet and cold, opened the door and what the hell is that, how amazing is that ??? The log burner is already burning, everthing looks like christmas and also a little christmas tree is shining !!!! Wooooow together with the view over the hole lake, no one else here, you know what i mean...unbelievable! I can't put it in words, just thanx god that i had the chance to met these lovely people from carpedor.co.uk in 2004!! Against all happiness, there is something 500km away from here which i can't get out of my mind, because she is just the way she is, regards from bruno to her ;-) so guys, have a lot to do to put the rods out, read me later...

final report after a dreamweek at lesmo...

so what should i say, i thought about what to write and i was very doubtful, but i decide, SORRY ANDY (the owner of lesmo and some other nice lakes), it is now the time to tell you all the TRUTH about Lesmont and our catches.

all our catches we wrote that we caught on lesmo are not true, the fish were from another lake in france, not a commercial running lake.
all the weights were a tissue of lies and maximum only the half of what we posted.
The lake, lesmont, is very ugly, the swims are the worst i've ever seen !
toilet and shower are not usable. the owner and baillifs are not very helpful.
the few fish, which are maybe swimming there, are very small and bad looking.
it is very very very noisy at the banks, like you sit one feet beside a highway.
and so on......

we found the last 6 six years not even one positive point why to book this lake, so please !!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BOOK A FISHING WEEK AT LAC LESMONT !!!!!

Sorry Andy/Fred, but there is no other possibility to get free space for my bookings

every year i "write me a wolf", do live reports and what is the f.....ng result ? it becomes more and more booked out for the future and more and more complicated for us to get a free week in good month, s..t !!!!!!

but that's life. of course the written statements are just a joke and most of you know it, it is every time a great experiance to fish that lake and i'm sure, we will not get boring to fish the lake the next maybe 10y.
you have to position yourself on the fishing every time new. it is every time a "new" week, you do not know how it was the week before, where the party had fished, how much bait they throw in, the weather and so on, and of course on "what" the fish will actually response. what last year worked good can work a year later not so good. so it is not just put baits out, lay the rods on the bait and wait. ok, you can do this and you will catch one or another, maybe or not.
i like the many options you have (but you must "see" them, open your mind) to fish there and get success, maybe, not guaranteed !

this time we had our most successful week i think, britta and me together fished "only" with 4 rods. often during the day there were only two rods out, but maybe, who knows, exactly this was good. in the night, when we banked a fish, the rods went not every time back into the spot. sometimes we only feed and fished them the following night again.
we had in total 31 takes, lost (i don't wanna really think about, s..t!) 7 fish, maybe 4-5 a few seconds after playing it. all losts based on hook pulls (maybe because of very small hooks etc.. ok, not fine, it hurts me, but even better than the hooklink or mainline breaks and the fish swims around with that. please safety first).
so we were in the lucky situation to bank (only britta and me, not the whole party ! unbelievable for us) 24 Carps !!!!! in one week including, two Grasscarp !!!! And we caught a lot of them on a mixture from scoberry-boilies and the new prototypes of maple-dreams.

i think this is a result we could never beat or get again, but who knows

i hope my live report / blog (www.planet-vopi.blogspot.com) was understandable again, if not i hope my bad german school english was a little bit amusing and not beyond all bearing !

The break

While i was writing the last post i was sitting at the end of 'the trail' stalking again, in the dark, like now. The reason of the break was a screaming delk in our swim. Britta gave me 'fishalarm on right hand roooooood' via 'walkytalky'. So i reeled in the stalking rod and made the 100 meter in under 5 seconds, i think ;-) i knew it must be a bigger one, because i heard the last 3 nights big splashes in that area. The rod was out there on the already for two days and untouched. She played the fish like a pro. It sounds 'too romantic', i know, but when we both looked at the tip where the line goes to and how far the fish is away, we saw a star falling from heaven, no joke! Exactly today we are 7 years married! So it must be a big one and it was! 46.4lbs mirror! So on our 'marriage day' (don't know how to say it in correct english) we both had a big lump and reached, no toped our dreamtarget which was to catch 20 carps in one week on beautyful lesmo. Now we have 21 and with the grasscarps 23 carps in total, uuuuunbelievable and we have no more words for that what happend! Maybe only to say thaaaaaaaank you andy, marie, carl, hayley and to the rest of the team for such a nice lake and everything else, many many many thanks!!!

Last day has broken...

...on beautyful lac lesmomt. We now count the hours, always the same, we won't leave and could stay another 28 weeks at lesmo without getting bored at the bank. Last night britta and me had one take but lost, no good hookhold. Willi had a mid twenty, jens two carps, alex zero and volker (not me) i think his 15th grasscarp this week. I decided to stalk a little bit. Because the weather changed to a hot sunny day with only little bit wind, the carps were only chiling under the trees where they feel safe. But they only 'feel' safe. They didn't mention that there was a very crazy german, named 'the red' ;-) i decided not to use boilies and no particles to trick them. I feed a trail along the margin with only a piece of 'that' every meter up to the only place where it was possible to fish and bank a carp safely!! I feed the trail three times during the day. And when i was on the third go, i saw 4 very big lumps on the trail. One hour later i set my trap with a piece of 'that', shortly dipped in marmite, at the end of the trail. Jens was on short talk by me and we laughed a little bit about what i was doing and if i would get a bite it would be a hammer. 5, yes 5! minutes later the delk exploded, my technium xt 1000 was burning and jens and me shocked! It took a few seconds to realise and then i could easily play the lump, but with soft knees. Easily because (bleeeep, pause, another delk screamed while i am writing, let you know later!, now back on my stalking rod again) the carp couldn't handle the situation. They always (in this area) try to swim in the margin and snags, but the pressure came from there, because 'the red' stands here ;-) so i could bank the fish 100% safely. The result, a nice 49er, jens and me felt in a big mixture of crying for happiness and laughing. 'that' works also in the highend bait aera, just simple and stupid.

Willi the paylake newcomer beat already his pb in the morning and now also alex. He started our trip already very ill, lost 3 in the first night, caught only a pike on sunday, moved to another peg on wednesday still a little bit ill but today one of his delks played the soundtrack of the big ones. Ronnie was the singer, brilliant 53.13lbs. Alex is also a france and paylake newcomer (he fished a few years only in germany), but i think it is not his last trip to lesmont ;-) well done mate!! And still two nights left, so who knows...

So all of our party had between one and three fish at night. I had a take at midnight, got the rod, but no contact, maybe a liner. At 5am i had a 36.5 mirror from one of the four plateaus we fish at night. Britta had one at 9am, just before we reel in for the dayspots (today different ones instead of the last days). So the nightspots are not that productive than we thought. But of course no problem, we had more than enough banked! But the highlight was our mate willi, he had at the beginning one 21kg, then no bleeps until today. And what bleep, a mirror at 60.17lbs!! That's great luck, he is the first time on a paylake and normally wouldn't fish them lakes, but well done willi, great you had it mate!

A little bit lazy and tired i did not spend so much in fishing today. I lost one at 3pm, let the rod out, so we had only two out on the dayspots. Heavily wind and rain did the rest to do nothing today. Only a hot shower, a good meal and nothing more. We had some bleeps on one rod, maybe the wind i thought. I was waiting 20min but no more bleeps, so i went to visit alex at the opposite bank. Just arrived i saw britta running out of lodge and juming on the rod which bleeped before. Because it was a dangerous spot, bad angle to the left hand snaggy margin, i run a new 500m rekord. And shit it felt like it was snagged. So i took the rod and went along the margin like tarzan in the jungle to the fish. Snagged, just screamed fuuu.. it comes free and bend the rod to an O, what a fat one, i could see him. So with slottering knees back thru the jungle to the swim where we land it a few minutes later. Because we both played the 'little' beauty it is a real 'both' carp, so fotosession with both of us. Oh, the weight ? 'only' 54.67lbs! What a week, it is unbelievable!

Still less sleep!

I didn't put the 3 rods out again in the early morning, i was too tired, so there was only one rod left in fire. Went to bed and one hour later also the last one went off. I played the fish shortly when the hook pulled of, mad and game over. Throwed my lovely tribal lc in the bushes and went to sleep. Awake at 8 first a strong coffee and looked for the 'bushrod'. Found it a few minutes later with no damage, fine. Put all rods out on the dayspots and everything was fine again. At 10:20 we heard a well known soundtrack, brittas turn, 25.3lbs. One and a half hour later the same music, my turn, 35.4lbs. What a week! The rest of our party did nothing, shit. Alex moved in another swim this morning and had also two fishies, mid twenties, i hope he catch a really really big one on his first france trip, fingers crossed!

...because i cannot get back to sleep. At 1am we had a double run. Britta stays inhouse, i'm out in my brolly, i must sit near the water. Whenever we have a take i awake britta via 'walkytalky', but the batteries went empty and because of massive rain with wind she can't hear me. So i decided to take the right hand rod, all in seconds. I 'reeled' the fish in, on the mat, quick look, mhd twenty and released it quickly. Jumped to the other rod, contact, played it a few seconds, hook pull, fuuuuuuuuuu..! Shit happens. I put the rods out, rain stopped, who cares. Back in bag the delk screamed again at 02:50. I banked a mid thirty, called britta (new batteries! No not britta, the walky) we made some pictures with the digi, a common 31lbs. But before we could take pictures with tge mobile another delk screamed. Briua played it in the rain, did a perfect job, also a common at 33lbs. And while i was writing these lines another delk screamed, no joke, my part, a good fighting mirror at 36lbs, game over. Only one rod left, three out of order (we both together only fish with 4 rods instead of 6, so there are not so many lines out). So, i have to make new rigs and try to put the 3 rods out again.

Yes, we're still alive...

... It was a little bit a busy day. I lost two last night, shit, the hooks pulled off. There was still a lot of fish in the area, so our target was to catch a minimum of 5 during the day and on our dayspots. But, i hate that when i'm in hot fishing mode, we must do a little bit shopping. So up to supermarche at 9:30 and back on the rods at 11:00, 2 hours lost. But ok, we had to this. So rods out and try to reach the target. And we did it :-) we had exactly 5 carps just before we were going to put the rods on the nightspots. Mirror 32,7lbs, mirror 47,8lbs, mirror 43,6lbs, common 20,4lbs and a fu...ng strong fighting common 40,2lbs (played it nearly half an hour under the tip). We had all fish on a piece of crushed scoberry with a ?????? on top (let u know later, maybe !) on different spots. We tried different 'on tops' like fake corn in different colours or some pieces of popups, whatever, but when we changed to that ????? the delk screamed, funny. The rest of our party had zero, big shit and very unlucky, only jens had his first fish, a nice common at round about 46+lbs, perfect! By the way, it is heavily raining and i start to write this post at 9pm (21), had to stop writing a few times because the delks screamed. Two crazy grasscarp, both between 42 and 44lbs, didn' take pictures because they were too nervous and sensible fish, so back to their element quickly. And a fat bream, maybe the only one out here because since the last 6years it was the only one i had ever seen on lesmo. Rod is out again, so i can finish the post, god thanks :-)

Little update

... no action further during daylight, I only lost one in the weed. Weather changed into some rainy periods, air pressure went down. A lot of fish is active in the unfished areas, also in those britta and me fished only with two rods only during the day. I feed that area with many little humps al around after we put our rods out on the nightspots. So i hope the fish will feed with no fear and stays a while until we 'll fish it tomorrow. I have to jump on my bedchair to sleep now, read me later...

...'shit happens' when britta walked around and i caught the fifty??? See here brittas answer, a quick fifty at midday, henry with 53+lbs!! And what do i learn?? You got it, shit happens :-) but i'm very proud!!! She earned it, and she earned a bigger one!! The fish came on a crushed sco... ;-) with a little fake corn on one of our daylight stalking rods. I saw a biggie in that area jumping a few times yesterday near the margins, so we put a rod out there today.

...but just before we were going to take the rods out from the nightspots to fish them on the dayspots the delk screams and we could bank a lovely hard fighting mirror with 33,7 lbs. My mate volker(middle) had two catfish, a grasscarp and a common with 28lbs. Willi(right) and alex(left) had nothing during the night. Jens had to go back home yesterday and comes back wednesday evening, bad for him but we'll feed his spots very well for a nice 'come back'. Weather is still windy from n/ne but will change to s/sw tomorrow with some rain, fine!

...the following night. Little bit late but who cares. There is already fish feeding on the spots we prepare, it is hard to leave them unfished now. But there are a lot of other little spots to fish ;-) for toworrow the same tactics, we'll take the rods out of the lake latest at 9am and fish with only two rods the margins and the weed during the day, so the main area is free of lines. Oh, before i forgot, the most important thing were not my catches, no, after three lost fish on napo, britta caught one, a very nice looking 22lbs mirror!! The unlucky time is hopefully gone! By the way, my fifty could be hers, during the day it is her turn, normally. But she preferd to have a go around the lake to visit our mates, so what do we learn? Correct, shit happens :-) read me soon, maybe...

No bleep during the night...

...on our rods, but expected. My mate willi had a nice 44 mirror. We took the rods out at 8am, then just baiting my favorite spots which i will fish at tuesday. Then a little bit watching to the fish activities and at 01 o'clock we put two rods out with only a few crushed boilies where fish was active. Of course the shining white scoberry mixed with some green maple prototypes, all sweet and good for instant fishing. The result, can't believe it, at 3pm a fat mirror with 42lbs and at 5pm a, take a seat it is not normal, mirror with 50.08lbs !!!! Unbelievable!!

Spots prepared, traps were set...

...so we'll see what happens in the first night. I prepare 3 spots with plenty of baits the next two days to fish them earliest tuesday afternoon. Hopefuly my tactic works to get the bigger ones feeding without fear. Until tuesday i fish the other spots (6) in change, once here once there and only with a little bit of baits, just a pva bag and under a half of the rear hopper. All the 6 spots and around the area i put little pva bags aroud. So lets se what happens the next days. We are a party of 5, me and britta only as one angler (to have not so much lines in the water) and 4 of my german mates, three of them are for the first time at a paylake. But, when they saw the lake, the jumping fishies, the pegs and so on, i'm sure they become regulars and will treat me the whole year for another booking soon. I take little cap of sleep and will let you know tomorrow what happend (if so :->)...

...just 3 nights to sleep and britta and me are back on the road to france. so one week at napoleon last week, a week working and theeeeeeeeen on saturday for one week exclusive to Lesmoooo !

Not that we caught a lot beauties, also the new mates we met makes the week much more prettier, so thanx to Adam and Andy (not carpedor andy) for helping me out with gaz and a big thanx to Andy (not carpedor andy) for his entertainment and tarty clothing show :-)))) he know's what i mean ! ;-> looking forward to do another fishing with you mates !
the way we're fishing, don't misunderstand, it's only the way we did it and what we think about getting on the carp. BUT we're not copperfields and also only cooking with water, just do little bit fishing and try some different things, you'll catch them. i think it is not about which bait you are using there, it's more about the bait (where you are confident in) is absolutely correctly placed (hard bottom, gravel,little weedholes, near the margin (near = 20cm !)). Spend some effort in finding these harder spots and if you ask the bailiff, they are all very helpful. we lost one carp in snags, old tree in the water. it looks a very carpy spot, but we didn't fished it anymore, i think safety first. Britta lost another 3 only by hook pulls, not because of snags.
because (depends on which peg you fish) it could be very snaggy and the angle to your rods could be very difficult, try something to make it safe, maybe subfloats or clip the line at the margin so that the fish move against teh pressure, so away from the margin's, you know what i mean?

the first night i used on three rods the new squid&orange from andy (carpedor andy), andy soaked them one day before we arrived, so i could feed them together with my baits as "old". These baits are really nice, but i think it is not (not yet !) about the bait. i caught on the good old scoberry (shining white) and red spice fish from successful-baits.de, i also used two new prototypes which will be available next year, if everything goes fine. one of them a sweat/maple like one, green coloured. the other proto is a very white shining fishmeal one with some new ingredients and very soft. i mixed the greenies with my scoberry and the white fishies with the red spice fish boilies. caught on every bait.

on wendnesday i changed our tactic from many many little spots of baits (onyl a handful in the rear hopper and put it everywhere once a day) to a big area of plenty bait and some changes in the hooklenght. we caught on the new massive baited area some carps, but i think it was the wrong tactic. doesn't matter because i always do it when it is my first time at a new lake. maybe we had caught a few more carp if we didn't changed our tactics, but we had a "few" until wendnesday and we always learn from the faults ;->

...the bivvy and in a few hours the dream is over. Sunday to review what happend, if it was really true and on monday work gets me and britta back. Had a short drop back 5 min ago, maybe the last action on lovely napoleon. The sun is comming up after the rainy day and night, so we can pack up dry, also perfekt! We have to say many many many many thanx to marie, andy, carl, steve and the whole carpedor team and workers who helped building the swins, for such a nice venue. See ya next saturday on lesmo! :-)

The last night on this fantastic carpedor venue named napoleon has started. Heavy winds and changing rain/sun, sun/rain during the day, no bleep no jumping carps, nearly no sign of fish, even a few bubbles. Tomorrow it goes back home for one week amd then next saturday back to france for one week aaaaaat lac lesmont with a party of only five. So we go to sleep now...

Still heavy winds, some rain for a few minutes, but not cold. Go to have some sleep now and put the two rods out later...

I just hit the button 'send' on the last post and one of these damned delks screamed again. Must change to fox or something else 'cheap' stuff, heard they were not so nervous and screamed not soooo often :-) whatever, now i'm sitting here at 'silent' lake and have to handle it with the 'noisy' delks, here the reason which made it nervous. A strong fighting common out of the weed, 36,5lbs. It had two other hooks in the mouth! One with three fake corn, glad i could free them. If somebody is missing them, i send worldwide, but prefer pick up. By the way, i must have a look at the entrance tomorrow if the plate really says napoleon or something like fishfarm. Maybe andy is still waiting for us and we are on a wrong lake, who knows, i'm not sure anymore :-) let you know later...

After the cleaning thunderstorm we have some winds and a little bit of rain, better conditions than these bloody hot sticky thursday. So some hungries began to feed. A nice 32.5lbs mirror and his little, but unbelievable powerful sister with 23.6lbs.

But only in getting all rods new out and baiting up for the night. All traps were prepared before 8 o'clock. And that was fine, because we had a heavy thunderstorm with tons of rain for an hour, just past 8. I lost my first fish this week round about 6 o'clock, shit, but my fault. It was on brittas shimano xt's. I was fishing the lc's, stronger ones because of the weed and longer range spots. I put one xt 3lbs to one of my far spots near the weed and it happend, no reserves to hold the fish, bend like an O, fish at the surface, one shake, f..ck. So i changed all to lc's. See what happen...By the way, i'm looking for another one, because i've only 5 shimano xt LC, so if somebody has to sell one, let me know please via email planetvopi@t-online.de !! During the day (only the one lost at 6) no bleeps, to hot, even for the carps. Most of them were still 'standing' right under the snaggy trees. Nice to look at. Hopefully after these thunderstorm it cools down and the air pressure comes back to feeding level on these nice lake, so cross fingers! I must have some more, saw some beauties under the trees on my sightseeing tour at midday :-)
